The Houston Texans denied the Indianapolis Colts permission to speak with quarterback Deshaun Watson, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Houston and Watson have been looking for a trade destination for the disgruntled signal-caller. However, the team doesn’t appear interested in moving him to another AFC South club.

Watson is set to speak with the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers on Monday evening, according to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports. He’s also reportedly expected to meet with more teams Tuesday.

The Seattle Seahawks have been linked to the 26-year-old since trading Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos, but they currently have no plans to meet with Watson, reports Dianna Russini of ESPN.

The Colts reportedly began looking for a new starting quarterback after trading Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders. Wentz went 9-8 and failed to lead Indianapolis to the playoffs in his first season with the team in 2021.

Watson, who holds a no-trade clause, requested a move from the Texans last offseason amid a fallout with upper management. He didn’t play in 2021 but was on Houston’s active roster throughout the season.
