The Las Vegas Raiders are parting ways with defensive end Carl Nassib after two seasons, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Nassib’s release will be marked as a post-June 1 transaction, freeing up $8 million in cap space after that date, Schefter adds.

The 28-year-old joined the Raiders on a three-year, $25.25-million deal in 2020. He’s had limited production with the team, recording just four sacks over 27 games.

Nassib spent two years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before coming to the Raiders. He put up 12.5 sacks during his time with the Buccaneers, including a career-high 6.5 in 2018.

He became the first active NFL player to come out as gay last offseason.
