The Anaheim Ducks are trading defenseman Hampus Lindholm to the Boston Bruins, reports Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli.
Anaheim is receiving a 2022 first-round pick, a 2023 second-round selection, a 2024 second-rounder along with defensemen Urho Vaakanainen and John Moore, according to TSN’s Chris Johnston. The Ducks retained 50% of Lindholm’s salary.
Lindholm, 28, is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the season. He carries a cap hit of $5.2 million.
With the addition of the left-handed blue-liner, the Bruins’ line combinations could look something like this:
LD | RD |
---|---|
Hampus Lindholm | Charlie McAvoy |
Matt Grzelcyk | Brandon Carlo |
Mike Reilly | Connor Clifton |
Lindholm is a solid two-way player who can help out on both ends of the ice. He has five goals and 17 assists in 61 games this season while averaging 22:32 minutes of ice time per contest.
