The Philadelphia Phillies and outfielder Nick Castellanos have agreed to a five-year, $100-million contract, sources told MLB Network’s Jon Heyman.

The 2021 All-Star and Silver Slugger posted a picture of himself in Philadelphia on Instagram Friday night.

Castellanos, 30, spent the previous two seasons with the Cincinnati Reds, hitting .284/.343/.550 with 48 homers and 134 RBIs over 198 games.

The nine-year veteran has also played for the Chicago Cubs and Detroit Tigers and possesses a career .814 OPS with 168 home runs.

Castellanos will likely stay in the outfield alongside reigning NL MVP Bryce Harper. However, he could also split time at designated hitter with new recruit Kyle Schwarber, who signed a four-year, $79-million contract with the team earlier this week.

The Dave Dombrowski-run Detroit Tigers originally drafted Castellanos in the first round of the 2010 draft. Dombrowski now serves as the Phillies’ president of baseball operations, joining the club before the 2021 campaign.
