The Green Bay Packers are re-signing tight end Robert Tonyan to a one-year deal, a source told ESPN’s Rob Demovsky.

The contract includes a void year to help Green Bay spread Tonyan’s salary cap hit, Demovsky adds.

Tonyan suffered a torn ACL last October that ended his season prematurely. The 27-year-old, who broke out with 586 yards and 11 touchdown catches in 2020, finished last campaign with only 18 receptions for 204 yards and two touchdowns through eight appearances.

Green Bay struggled at the tight end position in 2021, with Josiah Deguara topping the team with 25 catches and 245 yards. Veteran Marcedes Lewis also contributed with 214 yards on 23 receptions through 17 games.
