All Elite Wrestling’s Matt Sydal is currently sidelined with a dislocated knee, hence why he hasn’t been on company television lately.

The 39-year-old revealed as much on Twitter this past Saturday. Fortunately, while his knee is dislocated, he hasn’t suffered tears to his ACL or PCL, which would require a longer, more intense rehabilitation process:

Thanks for the birthday love. A brief update: I dislocated my knee a few weeks back which is why I haven’t been active in AEW. In good news, there were no tears in my acl or pcl. Gonna do some meditating then BRB better than ever.

While Sydal didn’t offer a timeline for his comeback, dislocated kneecaps typically take around six weeks to fully heal.

There is currently no word on when or how Sydal incurred the injury. The high-flyer hasn’t wrestled since facing Nano Lopez for Poland’s Prime Time Wrestling on 19 February, however, with his last AEW date being the promotion’s Dark: Elevation tapings three days before that. Sydal teamed with Brock Anderson, Frankie Kazarian, Jay Lethal, and Lee Johnson to defeat Chaos Project and The Wingmen in his last All Elite outing.

Matt has been with AEW since All Out 2020, when he was a surprise entrant in the event’s Casino Battle Royale. He was confirmed as a full-time, contracted signing two months later in November.
