Former New Orleans Saints left tackle Terron Armstead is headed to the Miami Dolphins, he announced Tuesday, according to Katherine Terrell of The Athletic.

Armstead and Miami have agreed on a five-year deal worth up to $87.5 million, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The pact, which reportedly contains $43.37 million guaranteed, includes incentives and has a base value of $75 million, a source told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Armstead was arguably the top free agent available this offseason. The 30-year-old established himself as one of football’s top offensive tackles in recent years, earning three consecutive Pro Bowl nods from 2018-20. That streak ended last season after an elbow injury limited him to only eight appearances.

Injuries have been an issue for Amstead throughout his career; he’s missed at least six games in four of the last six seasons.

The 2013 third-round pick logged 97 appearances (93 starts) with the Saints. He allowed just four sacks over the last two campaigns, according to PFF.

Miami ranked 32nd and 31st in pass- and run-blocking last season, respectively, and the team allowed 40 sacks on the year.

Armstead will be the second new starting offensive lineman to join Miami this year, following guard Connor Williams.
