Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead is aiming to find middle ground on a deal for Aaron Donald that pays the star defensive tackle what he’s worth while keeping the club in a position to improve.

“We definitely have chatted with Aaron, his representation,” Snead said Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Brady Henderson. “And we’re trying to come up with a win-win solution to reward Aaron but still definitely be able to continue trying to compete as a team at the highest level. So we’re in progress there.”

Donald said after winning Super Bowl LVI that he would take time to consider his future. However, he was at the forefront of “run it back” chants during the team’s championship parade.

The eight-time Pro Bowler’s current deal is worth $22.5 million per season, which ranks sixth in the NFL among defenders, according to Spotrac.

Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., another key contributor to Los Angeles’ Super Bowl run, is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in the final and is a free agent. With Beckham recovering, the Rams signed top free-agent wideout Allen Robinson. Snead insists the club remains interested in bringing back Beckham, though he doesn’t expect the star receiver to return to the field anytime soon.

“We would definitely appreciate him being a part of that diversity of (receivers) we were talking about, and coming in obviously later in the season and kind of finishing things off with him,” Snead said.

Donald contributed 12.5 sacks during the regular season, while Beckham played a large role in the postseason, totaling 288 yards and two touchdowns across four playoff games.
