The Los Angeles Clippers and center Ivica Zubac have reached an agreement on a three-year, $33-million extension, Zubac’s agents told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Clippers had a $7.5-million team option on Zubac’s contract for 2022-23 but declined it to negotiate the new deal. Had L.A. picked up his option, he would have been eligible to hit free agency in 2023.

Zubac had a career year last season, posting personal bests across the board with 10.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and one block per contest. He established himself as a key piece in head coach Tyronn Lue’s preferred five, starting in all 76 of his appearances.

The Clippers acquired the 24-year-old Croatian from the rival Los Angeles Lakers in February 2019.

Zubac’s extension is the Clippers’ third significant move of the offseason so far. The team penned forward Robert Covington to his own two-year extension in May and reportedly intends to sign guard John Wall after he clears waivers following his buyout with the Houston Rockets. They’re also said to have a mutual interest in a reunion with forward Nicolas Batum, who will reportedly become a free agent after turning down his player option for next season.
