The Vancouver Canucks signed forward Curtis Lazar to a three-year deal, the team announced Wednesday.

The pact carries an average annual value of $1 million, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

Lazar, 27, spent the 2021-22 campaign as a member of the Boston Bruins. He logged eight goals and eight assists in 70 contests while averaging 12 minutes of ice time per game.

“Curtis is a valuable addition to our group,” general manager Patrik Allvin said. “He grew up a Canucks fan, was raised in B.C., and already has a strong connection to our club. He is a responsible 200-foot player who can line up at center or on the wing.”

He became an unrestricted free agent after playing out the final season of a two-year deal with an $800,000 cap hit.

Selected by the Ottawa Senators in the first round of the 2013 draft, Lazar has 90 points in 404 career contests.
