The Seattle Kraken brought in two-time Stanley Cup champion Andre Burakovsky on a five-year deal with an average annual value of $5.5 million, the team announced Wednesday.

Burakovsky spent the 2021-22 season with the Colorado Avalanche, logging three goals and five assists in 12 playoff games. He scored the overtime winner in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The 27-year-old played in Colorado for the past three seasons. He enjoyed a solid breakout campaign in 2021-22 and reached career highs in goals (22), assists (39), and points (61).

He became an unrestricted free agent after playing out the final season of a two-year deal with a $4.9-million cap hit.

Burakovsky also won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Washington Capitals in 2018.

Selected by the Capitals in the first round of the 2013 draft, Burakovsky has 295 points in 519 career NHL games.
