McCourty retires with one Super Bowl ring, which came as a member of the Patriots’ 2018 championship team. He spent three years in New England’s secondary (2018-2020) alongside his twin brother Devin.

The former defensive back tallied 18 interceptions over 141 career starts. His best performance came in 2012 when he picked off a personal best four passes.

McCourty finished his NFL journey with seven appearances and four starts for the Dolphins in 2021. He was a free agent at the time of his retirement.

A media opportunity could be in McCourty’s future. He’s considered the favorite for Nate Burleson’s role on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football,” according to Ryan Glasspiegel and Andrew Marchand of The New York Post.
