The Baltimore Orioles and first overall pick Jackson Holliday are in agreement on a record-breaking deal for a high-school player, the New York Post’s Jon Heyman reports.

Holliday will receive $8.19 million, besting Druw Jones’ $8.18-million agreement with the Arizona Diamondbacks, according to MLB Pipeline’s Jim Callis.

The slot value for the No. 1 pick in the 2022 MLB Draft was $8,846,900.

Holliday, 18, was chosen first overall by the Orioles on Sunday after being named the Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year for the state of Oklahoma.

The son of former big-league player Matt Holliday, Jackson slashed .685/.749/1.392 for Stillwater. The shortstop broke J.T. Realmuto‘s high-school record for hits in a season with 89 in 41 games.
