Winnipeg Jets forward Pierre-Luc Dubois accepted a one-year, $6-million qualifying offer from the team on Friday.

Dubois potted 28 goals and 32 assists in 81 contests this past season. He’ll remain a restricted free agent after this deal expires.

The 24-year-old reportedly informed the Jets in June that he plans to test unrestricted free agency when eligible in 2024. His agent, Pat Brisson, revealed earlier this month that the Quebec native would like to play for the Montreal Canadiens.

Dubois attended the 2022 NHL Draft in Montreal because he believed a trade to the Habs would be completed on the draft floor, sources told The Athletic’s Arpon Basu and Murat Ates.

The Jets acquired Dubois and a 2022 third-round pick from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Patrik Laine and Jack Roslovic in 2021.

Dubois just wrapped up a two-year pact with an average annual value of $5 million.

Selected third overall by the Blue Jackets in the 2016 draft, Dubois has 102 goals and 137 assists in 361 career contests.
