Washington Nationals outfielder Juan Soto is already tired of hearing about the trade deadline.

“I just want to get it over with and see what’s going to happen,” Soto said, according to’s Jessica Camerato. “I mean, just go over that day and start over here or wherever I’m at.”

Soto has been the biggest focus in baseball ahead of Tuesday’s deadline, with several teams interested in the 23-year-old star who reportedly turned down a massive 15-year, $440-million contract extension from the Nationals.

The St. Louis Cardinals, who defeated the Nationals on Sunday, have been strongly linked to the two-time All-Star. The Cardinals president of baseball operations John Mozeliak was seen meeting with Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo during Sunday’s game.

The San Diego Padres are reportedly willing to discuss shortstop C.J. Abrams, left-hander Adrian Morejon, and top prospect Robert Hassell III with the Nationals in a Soto deal.

Additionally, the Los Angeles Dodgers and both teams from New York have been connected to Soto, although the Yankees and Mets are reportedly unwilling to trade their top three prospects for the young star, who isn’t eligible for free agency until 2025.

Soto has been one of MLB’s most productive hitters since he debuted as a 19-year-old in 2018. He’s slashed .291/.427/.537 with 118 home runs, 108 doubles, 460 walks, and 357 RBIs in five seasons. The two-time Silver Slugger has won a batting title, Home Run Derby, and a World Series.
