The Baltimore Orioles traded All-Star closer Jorge Lopez to the Minnesota Twins for four players, the teams announced.

Baltimore receives left-handers Cade Povich and Juan Rojas, as well as right-handers Yennier Cano and Juan Nunez.

Lopez is in the midst of a career year. The 29-year-old has registered a 1.68 ERA, 2.99 FIP, and 10.1 K/9 with 19 saves in 44 appearances this season.

The first-time All-Star owns a 5.51 ERA and 1.47 WHIP over his seven-year career, which has featured stops with the Orioles, Kansas City Royals, and Milwaukee Brewers.

Cano, 28, appeared in 10 games for the Twins this season, authoring a 9.22 ERA and 9.2 K/9 in 13 2/3 innings.

Povich is the only one of the four players the Orioles acquired in the Twins’ top 30 prospects, according to MLB Pipeline.

Minnesota selected the 22-year-old in the third round of the 2021 draft, and he owns a 6-8 record in 16 starts for High-A Cedar Rapids.
