New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson is expected to miss two-to-four weeks after suffering a meniscus tear and a bone bruise in Friday’s preseason opener, sources told Brian Costello of The New York Post.

Wilson will undergo arthroscopic surgery, which will determine exactly how much time the quarterback will miss, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. His meniscus only requires a trim rather than a full repair, added Costello.

The sophomore signal-caller sustained the non-contact injury during a scramble in a win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

New York will begin the regular season in four weeks against the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 11, so Wilson still has a chance to play in Week 1, given the initial recovery timeline.

Veteran Joe Flacco is in line to start if Wilson is forced to miss regular-season action.

Wilson threw for 23 yards and one interception on five attempts before exiting against Philadelphia.

The 23-year-old struggled during his first NFL season last year after being taken second overall by the Jets. He missed four games because of a sprained PCL in the same knee that he sustained his most recent injury. Wilson finished the campaign with 2,334 yards and nine touchdowns against 11 interceptions.
