The Los Angeles Rams signed head coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead to contract extensions through the 2026 season on Thursday.

McVay and Snead are coming off their first Super Bowl win. The Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals in February for their second title in franchise history.

Los Angeles added Snead in 2012, but the GM didn’t earn a winning season until after hiring McVay as the youngest head coach in NFL history in 2017.

McVay quickly proved Snead’s gamble was smart, producing the Rams’ first double-digit winning campaign and NFC West title since 2003 in his rookie season. Los Angeles made the Super Bowl after a 13-3 regular-season finish in 2018 but fell short against the New England Patriots.

The Rams missed the playoffs in 2019 but bounced back over the next two years. Quarterback Matthew Stafford‘s arrival propelled L.A. to a 12-5 record in 2021 and victory in Super Bowl LVI. McVay became the youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl at 36 years old.

Snead has been lauded for his aggressive approach to roster building, with blockbuster trades for Stafford and cornerback Jalen Ramsey his most prominent moves.

The GM has a history of landing stars in the draft despite the Rams not making a first-round selection since 2016. Snead’s most notable draft choices include picking three-time Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald and reigning Offensive Player of the Year Cooper Kupp.
