A new report from Voices of Wrestling’s Joe Lanza paints a chaotic picture of All Elite Wrestling’s women’s division behind the scenes, where heat between two top stars has allegedly been brewing for years.

Last night’s AEW Dynamite was preceded by company CEO Tony Khan hosting a backstage talent meeting touching on a number of topics, including talk of issues between various wrestlers. Later, a tearful Thunder Rosa said during the broadcast that she was unable to defend her Women’s World Title due to injury, leading to AEW announcing a four-way pitting Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, Jamie Hayter, and Toni Storm against each other for the interim strap.

Lanza touched on these situations during VOW’s Instant Reaction LIVE show after Dynamite. On the women’s division, he noted longstanding issues between Baker and Rosa, who have reportedly “been mortal enemies for years.” In addition, Hayter now has heat with Rosa, leading to an issue where the Women’s World Champion allegedly hid from Hayter in a backstage bathroom out of fear she was going to be attacked:

“There are way more onscreen feuds where the people legitimately hate each other than people think in AEW. Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa cannot stand one another. They have been mortal enemies for years now at this point. They can’t look each other in the eye. They hate each other’s guts. Jamie Hayter now cannot stand Thunder Rosa. Thunder Rosa broke Jamie Hayter’s nose in a match, then Thunder Rosa was scared that Jamie Hayter was going to beat the living shit out of her and was hiding in a bathroom. Things are ugly in the back, and this is why they’re having meetings, and all of this is starting to come out now, and it’s just a mess. I don’t know if Thunder Rosa legitimately can’t wrestle or if they’re just sending her away so some people can cool off, I don’t know.”

Jamie suffered the aforementioned broken nose in a Women’s World Title match with Thunder Rosa at Battle of the Belts III, which was taped on 5 August.

On Rosa’s injury status, Lanza stated:

“She was hurt several weeks back and did come back and wrestle, I know that she was wrestling hurt. I don’t know if she re-aggravated an injury. This was like two hours ago, I haven’t talked to anybody… maybe she is hurt. Do I think she was working? I don’t know, I saw some real emotion there and Britt Baker rubbed it in later. She totally rubbed it in later.”

Baker addressed the injury during her Dynamite victory over KiLynn King, doing so with a gleeful tone. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp has since confirmed that Thunder Rosa is legitimately hurt:

Continuing, Lanza elaborated on the reported issues between Hayter and Rosa, offering more details on what is alleged to have gone down:

“There was the dropkick to the back of Jamie Hayter’s head and Hayter didn’t take kindly to it. Word got back to Thunder Rosa that Hayter was coming for her and then they had that singles match on Rampage, and Rosa broke her nose in the match and Rosa was afraid Hayter was going to shoot on her and she was hiding in the bathroom allegedly all day. This is the craziness that’s been going on there. There’s just wild shit going on in that locker room right now and it ain’t just Punk and Hangman, it’s up and down the locker room.”

There is currently no word on the nature of Thunder Rosa’s injury. Her expected recovery time has not been disclosed either.

An injury happened during tonight’s AEW Battle of the Belts III event. The event aired tonight on TNT, but was taped before Friday’s “Rampage.”

As first reported by Fightful Select, during the AEW Women’s Title match, Jamie Hayter sustained a broken nose. The match ended with Thunder Rosa retaining the AEW Women’s Title.

It was also noted that Hayter was pulled from this weekend’s planned appearance at Icons of Wrestling due to the injury.

Icons of Wrestling’s Jerry Sorrentino shared that it was Hayter who announced that she wouldn’t be at the event on Sunday.

He wrote, “Icons Of Wrestling – Collectorfest Comic Con, I just got a text and a call from Jamie Hayter. She won’t be able to make it tomorrow. I am really sorry as well as Jamie. She really wanted to come and meet everyone. Refunds will be issued. Jamie will be with us for all of the other shows scheduled this year.”

Hayter made her AEW debut on the October 23, 2019, episode of “Dynamite.” She would officially sign with the promotion in August 2021. Since her signing, Hayter aligned herself with Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., and Rebel.

AEW’s Jamie Hayter would love to be a part of William Regal’s Blackpool Combat Club should the chance ever arise.

During an interview with ourselves ahead of tonight’s Double or Nothing PPV, Hayter was full of praise for the Blackpool Combat Club faction that currently comprises of Regal, Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta.

When asked outright if she’d have interest in joining this hard-hitting, violence-embracing group down the line, the former SWA World Champion was more than open to sitting under the learning tree of Messrs Regal, Danielson et al.

“Yes, absolutely. Like, I would love to be. If I wasn’t with Britt, I would be gunning to go to the BCC just because that’s my sh*t. They do the stuff that I love doing, and I think that I’m a bit rough around the edges and things like that, like a normal British person is. I would love to be under their wing and learn from them and be more of a lethal weapon in the ring.”

In addition to having William Regal now in AEW to seek advice from, Hayter also had plentiful praise for Arn Anderson, Dean Malenko and Jerry Lynn as other veterans of the business whose brain she enjoys having the opportunity to pick.

Elsewhere during this chat, Jamie was quick to name her dream opponent should Stardom become a part of any crossover event with AEW in the future, which outside talents she’d love to see appear in All Elite Wrestling, the possibility of AEW introducing Women’s Tag Team Titles, and also indicated that she is far from done with Toni Storm.

AEW Dynamite featured the first quarterfinal match for the women’s portion of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Toni Storm and Jamie Hayter wrestled a technical, aggressive match as they battled to see who would make it to the semifinal round.

When the dust settled, Toni Storm executed a finishing spike piledriver to get the pinfall over Jamie Hayter. She will compete against either Britt Baker or the “joker”, a soon to be revealed opponent, in the upcoming semifinal round.

Former WWE Star Toni Storm debuted with AEW on March 30, 2022, as a surprise opponent for The Bunny in a qualifying match for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Storm was obviously successful in that match, advancing to her quarterfinal match tonight. Jamie Hayter previously qualified for the tournament when she defeated Skye Blue on the April 1 episode of AEW Rampage.

Upcoming quarterfinal matches include Riho vs. Ruby Soho, Red Velvet vs. Hikaru Shida, and Britt Baker vs. the “Joker” mystery competitor. The tournament finals will be held at AEW Double Or Nothing on May 29 in Las Vegas, and Dr. Martha Hart will be there live to present the Owen Cup trophy to the winners.

Several matches and segments have been announced for Friday’s AEW Rampage on TNT.

Rampage will feature the second qualifying match for The Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament as Jamie Hayter takes on Skye Blue. The first qualifier was held on Dynamite with the debuting Toni Storm going over The Bunny.

AEW has announced the following for Rampage:

* We will hear from Kris Statlander

* We will hear from AEW TNT Champion Scorpio Sky, Dan Lambert and Paige VanZant

* The Young Bucks vs. Top Flight

* Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Keith Lee

* House of Black vs. Fuego Del Sol, Evil Uno and Stu Grayson

Friday’s Rampage is being taped tonight at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbus, SC.

Thunder Rosa defeated Jamie Hayter in last night’s AEW TBS Title Tournament quarterfinals match. She will now face Jade Cargill in the semifinals

Near the end of the match, Rebel and AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker attempted to get involved. Rebel had the ref’s attention while Hayter held Rosa from behind. Baker went for a thrust kick and accidentally kicked Hayter. Thunder Rosa got the pin for the victory shortly after.

Post-match, Hayter was annoyed about the loss, shoving Rebel and then Baker away.

On the other side of the bracket it’s Nyla Rose taking on the winner of Kris Statlander vs. Ruby Soho. The finals go down on January 5 when Dynamite moves from TNT to TBS.

Jamie Hayter defeated Anna Jay on this past weeks AEW Dynamite in a TBS Title Tournament First Round Match. Near the end of the match, Rebel and Britt Baker helped distract the ref and allow Hayter to put Jay down with a short-arm lariat for the pinfall win.

Hayter will now face Thunder Rosa in the next round.

As noted, The Bunny vs. Red Velvet was announced for Rampage in the final first round match. The tournament finals take place on Dynamite’s TBS debut episode on January 5.

Ruby Soho will make her AEW Dynamite in-ring debut this Wednesday from the Fifth Third Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.

As noted, Soho made her AEW debut at Sunday’s All Out pay-per-view and became the new #1 contender to AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker by winning the Casino Battle Royale.

In an update, AEW announced today that to prepare for her title shot with Baker, which has not been officially announced, Soho has signed an open contract to make her Dynamite debut this week. The contract was signed by Baker’s muscle, Jamie Hayter. Baker and Rebel will be in Hayter’s corner for the match.
